Life after Kumi
Firstly we would like to say a huge thank you to all of you who supported our trip to Kumi in Uganda this summer. We were able to use the money raised to make a real difference to real people. The money donated went towards life saving mosquito nets, a village house, bikes, building materials for a school, and COHAD.

We met the most amazing people who are struggling through very difficult circumstances every day of their lives as a result of war, HIV, famine and even extreme rainy seasons. Whilst survival is a daily challenge we found people full of grace, hope and love. There was laughter and tears in each day as we were faced with the reality of other people’s daily life.

We are heading back!

In 2012 we are hoping to head back with your help! We are aiming to follow up on the piggery project we started this year, and are hoping to roll out several more in different locations with a view to bringing about sustainable income and employment to villagers.

A child sponsorship programme will be piloted in 2012, where you can sponsor a child that we have met, providing schooling, medical care, clothing and mosquito nets for the whole family etc – all for £20 per month. We will provide an information exchange between you and your child – enabling you to see the progress he/she is making and how your sponsorship is helping.

This Christmas you can make a difference with a Kumi Gift Card
Are you stuck for ideas this Christmas? Do you really need another box of chocolates, pair of slippers or CD? Whether you are buying a gift for someone or they have asked you what you would like why not consider one of our Kumi Gift Cards? Here’s how it works:

For each gift ordered, you will be sent a card that inside describes the gift you have chosen. There is an appropriate photograph on the front and a description of the project on the back.
