Easy Chocolate Sundae Waffles
This is a fabulous and simple way for a busy household to enjoy a delicious, very decadent brunch treat with very little fuss.
You can, of course, make your own waffles from scratch, and I’ve done that in the past, but being a bit of a messy cook, I end up with batter all over the kitchen! So, for this year, I wanted an easy fix.
Lakeland does a lovely ready-prepped mix by JM Posner, to which you only need to add oil and water. They also do an equally fabulous vegan mix, and you cannot taste the difference between the two. If vegan is your thing, you can adapt this to suit.
Ingredients:
- A pack of Waffle Amour Belgian Style Toasting Waffles x 8 (there are other brands you can use such as the Lakeland Vegan waffle mix)
- Vanilla ice cream or a non-dairy alternative.
- Mixed fruits – I used blueberries and strawberries, but you can use any fruit you prefer, and banana and strawberry are a classic waffle combo.
- Nutella ganache sauce
- Icing sugar to dust
For the Nutella ganache sauce:
- 280g Nutella
- 148g double cream
- 1 tablespoon butter

Method:
- To make the Nutella sauce, warm the cream, mix into the Nutella and stir in the butter until smooth, and enjoy.
- To serve, toast the waffles according to the instructions, add a scoop of ice cream, decorate with the fruit and pour over the warm chocolate sauce, dust with icing sugar.
- Enjoy this decadent plate of deliciousness!
