On Saturday, we joined Walmgate Ale House & Bistro and The Wine Chapter for a luxurious chocolate & wine dinner for York Food & Drink Festival and we must say, it couldn’t of been a more fabulous evening!
Around 7pm our guests all arrived and were seated upstairs in the “Attic” after being spoiled downstairs at the bar with the menu’s canapé and a glass of glamorous champagne. The charming Cyrus from The Wine Chapter was hosting the evening and all the courses were being cooked by the very talented chefs at Walmgate Ale House & Birsto, the food was magnificent! The food looked (and tasted) incredible, just see for yourselves!
Firstly the guests had a canapé of chorizo bruschetta using our Raspberry & Rose chocolate which was paired with a beautiful Champagne, they both went down an absolute treat.
Next was the starter course of venison carpaccio with our Ecuadorian Dark chocolate and paired with a glass of Montalto Nero d’Avola.
Here comes the main; duck a la ‘chocolate’ using a bespoke batch of our Colombian & Orange milk chocolate, with a glass of Grignan-les-Adhémar Delas 2015.
And finally for dessert a Lime & Sea Salt chocolate tart, paired with the rather scrumptious dessert wine Domaine de Beaurenard Rasteau Vin Doux Naturel. What a perfectly delicious way to end the 4 course meal!
So after our fabulous guests were full of delicious food and gorgeous wine, we ended the evening with the charity raffle for Seeds of Hope Uganda where we raised a grand total of £273! All proceeds from the raffle go to helping the children on our sponsorship program and at COHAD.
It really was a gorgeous ending to the event! We’d like to say a huge thank you to Walmgate Ale house & Bistro, The Wine Chapter and all the lovely companies that donated all the fabulous prizes for the charity raffle.
The food was exquisite and the wine pairings by The Wine Chapter matched the dishes perfectly, it really was a wonderful evening!
