Dust off your bowls, mixers and wooden spoons because ‘The Great British Bake Off’ returns to our televisions on the 24th of August and we couldn’t be happier!
With 12 fabulous contestants, we just know there will be some fantastic bakes this year, maybe even some inspiration for our own recipe collection.
Last years Great British Bake Off finale was the most watched show of the year, even beating the finale of Britain’s Got Talent! That year a record breaking audience of 13 million people watched the lovely Nadiya Jamir Hussain take home the baking trophy! And when excluding sport coverage, The Great British Bake Off was the most watched programme since the coverage of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June 2012. We certainly are a nation of dessert lovers! So it’s safe to say we are very excited for the new season to begin!
Let’s meet the contestants!
Going from left to right on the first row we have Andrew, Jane, Louise, and Selasi. On the second row is Benjamina, Kate, Michael and Tom. And finally on the third row we have Candice, Lee, Rav and Val. Don’t they all look lovely in their baking aprons!
